We offer basic and advanced pistol courses. Green Ridge has the finest instructors in the business.

Practical Action
Pistol Competition
We do Practical Action Pistol shooting every 1st, 3rd, and 5th Saturday of the month. The 3rd Saturday is usually a two gun competition (rifle/pistol or shotgun/pistol). These shoots are timed and scored for points. We have a range focused on safety with certified instructors to provide direction.
Safety rules are discussed prior to each shoot.

Green Ridge Shooting Range is proud to host John Wayne DeLoach. John has been a “teacher of teachers” for many years. During his law enforcement career, John became an expert in firearm safety and use. He trained police officers how to shoot.
He not only protected the citizens of Birmingham but was chosen to protect United States presidents during their visits.

BASIC PISTOL COURSE
The Basic Pistol Course is a minimum of 4 hours taught in the classroom and on the firing range. Students will be instructed in the following:
- safety rules for gun handling
- nomenclature of pistol parts and ammunition
- operation of single and double action revolvers
- operation of semi-automatic pistols
- cleaning procedures
- proper storage of firearms
The cost for this course is $85.00.
ADVANCED PISTOL COURSE
The Advanced Pistol Course is a minimum of 8 hours taught in the classroom and on the firing range. It includes all elements of the Basic Pistol Course but with the addition of advanced pistol handling techniques including the following:
- bench rest and standing positions
- two-handed and one-handed grips
- movement while shooting
The cost for this course is $125.00.
